My husband and I are delighted with our experience of Selwyn Primary School, part of the Arbor Academy Trust. Our children (who have both attended since reception) are taught by outstanding, dedicated staff in a caring and nurturing environment. In addition to a varied and well balanced curriculum they are able to participate in a range of additional activities on a daily basis; learning musical instruments, taking part in sporting activities, learning languages, performing with the choir, in musicals and practicing pubic speaking. They make progress, both educationally and socially, which continues to make us proud and most importantly they enjoy school and attend excited to learn every day! We are confident that they will leave Selwyn at the end of year 6 well prepared for the next stage of their education and with very special memories indeed.

As a teacher, myself, I am passionate about schools having high expectations while taking the time to develop the whole child. My child joined an Arbor academy trust school in September and over the term I have seen my child acquire new knowledge, refine and develop their skills but more importantly he has become more socially aware and confident. There are so many opportunities for parent to get involved and to help to shape the schools. The leadership of the school are approachable and articulate their vision with clarity. Each and every child and family is known to them and they take the time to understand them as learners.

We feel very proud and privileged to have a child at Davies Lane. We have been amazed that every week brings new educational opportunities and challenges for our son. Our child flourishes from being driven by their bespoke targets and personal challenges, despite classes of 30 or more, individual needs are understood and met. We also relish the frequent chances of involvement with our child’s learning and development but also with the school and staff as a whole - from school trips, Bring Your Parent to School Day, being part of a Parent Council to the fantastic FODL /PTA fetes and events. It is an incredibly daunting task to choose the right school for your child, paving the way for their future. I am so grateful to the staff at the school and that we chose Davies Lane and have never once regretted it.
